Description

Platycerium Willinckii Sporeling "Moe" is a newly discovered individual, derived from the mountain-collected Platycerium Willinckii of Java. This sporeling is a specially selected individual from the spore produced by the mountain-collected Java staghorn fern. What makes Moe truly unique is that it is currently the smallest known individual among all Platycerium species. As a new cultivar, no fully mature specimens are available yet, but based on the oldest immature individual (with the last developing mature fronds), it is estimated that the spore leaves will be approximately the length of a finger at full maturity, while the vegetative leaves will grow to about the length of a thumb.

Origin:

  • Derived from a mountain-collected Platycerium Willinckii from Java, Platycerium Willinckii Sporeling "Moe" is a specially selected sporeling chosen for its exceptional small size.

Care Recommendations:

🌡️ Temperature: Ideal between 65-80°F (18-27°C).

💧 Humidity: Prefers high humidity, ideally above 60%.

🌞 Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate moderate light conditions.

Difficulty Level (1-5): 5

Difficulty:

Platycerium Willinckii Sporeling "Moe" has a difficulty level of 5 due to its extremely compact growth and small size. This requires careful attention to manage the direction of the leaves, as they can easily cover the growing tips and cause them to die if not monitored. Consistent high humidity and bright, indirect light are essential to maintain its growth. Overwatering should be avoided to prevent root rot, and it should be placed in a well-draining medium. This variety is best suited for experienced plant owners who can dedicate the necessary time and effort to care for its unique structure and prevent damage to the growing tips.
